East Croydon Stall. February 2024

East Croydon is a hot melting pot of multiple cultures, nationalities and ways of thinking. You have your over zealous possesses Christians and other people selling something or another.

Amongst this ‘chaotic’ scenery, our humble stall stood as a beacon of sane light for the public. We had a very productive few hours today. The recent young new brothers have been showing amazing consistency for the dawah, Duas they keep sincere and steadfast.

The highlight from all the conversations I had was with a Muslim girl and her ‘partner’ both from the West African Region. It started off pretty relaxed. The sister saying she’s Muslim but struggling with prayer and wants to fast in the up coming Ramadan. During the chat she mentioned “my partner Kelly here”. I picked this up although for some reason they both wanted to hide it strangely. Perhaps fear of being judged. But after the chat progressed it was apparent she’s a member of a local Muslim queer group! I had to intensify the discussion. Kudos to these young ladies they actually heard me out. I first made it clear that Islam prohibits this. I respect them as a human and they will get my cordial manners but it’s regarded as a major sin. She protested by saying that verses have been misinterpreted from the Quran and the Bible. I asked them to be clear. Are these religious texts, silent on the matter or do they encourage it or prohibit it? Which is it. She said she’s not sure, needs to look into it. So then I asked them that on what basis did they feel the need to have a relationship with a similar gender, they replied feelings.. and some other obscure reasons. I then said.. feelings and thoughts are natural and there’s no accountability for this.. but manifesting and acting upon it is.

Some people have the urge of maybe killing someone or want to enact some fantasy but doesn’t mean they should just give in to their desires? I then said why would any human want to become enslaved to their desires.. why not submit to God. I then discussed how Jannah allows all desires and fantasies, but just get there first!

I ended the conversation with tawheed. I said that if we truly believe in Allah.. then his communication and message should be perfect, without corruption and clear. Once they do the research about Islams rational foundations and they are sincere and they consult actual scholarship to Islamic verses and not some obscure half baked Arabic specialists then they will realise that same gender relationships are prohibited and destructive. And the more they have a deep relationship with Allah.. then that will

Help in overcoming these strong desires. We also touched upon evil and ‘bad’ things. If they consider murder, rape and other actions evil.. why not question same gender relations?

Alhumdulillah they both listened. Took many booklets inc the Divine Reality. I actually gave dawah to the Christian partner and hopefully gave strong naseehah to the Muslim girl both at the same Time.

It’s a strange era we live in.. but we can engage with as many human beings as possible and bring them to Allah. Let’s keep struggling and striving..
