Lessons beyond Stage

A few months ago, I stepped into the world of dawah with what I thought was pure sincerity. I wanted to serve, contribute, and grow for the sake of Allah. But I quickly realized that dawah doesn’t just give you tasks — it works on your heart. It exposes your blind spots, softens your soul, and teaches lessons you didn’t even know you needed.

From day one, our mentor Sir Nadeem reminded us:
“Always be humble while giving dawah”
I thought I understood. Humility, I believed, meant staying calm, being polite, and never losing your cool. But Allah had a much deeper lesson in store — one that only reveals itself when chaos hits.

The Day Everything Fell Apart

We invited Br. Mugheerah Luqman for a talk at our university. Three weeks of nonstop preparation: approvals, documents, security clearance — all meticulously handled. Even that morning, we were reassured, “Everything is clear.”

Then came the shock.

Security suddenly claimed the clearance didn’t exist. Calls went unanswered. Confusion took over. As the head organizer, I watched all our hard work crumble before my eyes. Stress, embarrassment, helplessness… it felt like the walls were closing in.

And yet, through all the chaos, Br. Mugheerah was a storm of calm.

No frustration.
No complaints.
No visible irritation.
Just patience, gentleness, and respect — as if the chaos around him didn’t even exist.

When the session finally started, he spoke with the same warmth and clarity as if everything had gone perfectly. That’s when it hit me:

Humility isn’t just staying calm on stage. It’s staying soft, patient, and sincere even when life throws its hardest tests.

Watching him that day was like witnessing a live tafsir of humility. It wasn’t a lecture. It wasn’t advice. It was character — raw, quiet, and powerful.

Through Sir Nadeem’s reminders and Br. Mugheerah’s example, Allah (S.W.T) taught me a lesson I thought I already knew. That day, I didn’t just hear about humility — I lived it.

“And the servants of the Most Merciful are those who walk upon the earth with humility…” — Surah Al-Furqan (25:63)
