Session at City School — North Nazimabad, Karachi

A few days ago, City School North Nazimabad invited us over. Three of us went, Sister Kiran, Sister Yesaa, and myself, Sister Amna, and the school welcomed us so warmly that it barely felt like the first time we were meeting them. There was just something easy about the whole atmosphere from the moment we walked in.

After a brief introduction to Dawah Motivation from Sister Kiran, Sister Yesaa began speaking about anger. It’s a topic most people have heard about in some form or another, but what made this session different was how every point kept circling back to Allah and the teachings of the Prophet .صلى الله عليه وسلم

She talked about how:

‘Getting angry isn’t wrong in itself, it’s simply human nature, and what actually matters is how we choose to control it.”

She brought in references from the Quran and Hadith, showing how the Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم himself dealt with anger, and since she’s a teacher herself, she added real, practical examples too, how she handles it with her own students, and how it plays out at home. Every so often she’d slip in a verse or a small story from the Prophet’s صلى الله عليه وسلم life, and the room would just go quiet, like the words were actually landing somewhere.

It’s rare for something so simple to carry that much depth. It really was just one sister speaking to other sisters, with Allah’s remembrance woven through the whole thing, no heavy lecture, yet the impact stayed with everyone in the room. By the end, the school staff thanked us so warmly, and honestly, it felt like the kind of opportunity that isn’t just luck, it felt Allah given.

We ended up carrying that same feeling with us afterward. Once the session wrapped up, the three of us sat at a nearby cafe for a while, and the conversation never really paused. We found ourselves talking through the session, exchanging thoughts on how it went, and somewhere along the way, the conversation drifted into our own goals and what we wanted to plan for next. And maybe that’s the real takeaway, when you start something for the sake of Allah, and you’re surrounded by sisters who share that same intention, even the ordinary moments, a session, a sit-down afterward, a casual conversation, end up meaning something more.
